This one has a little more complex narration style and timelines compared to The Passage.
Spoilers ahead…
For me some of the scenes felt quite redundant. Though it filled many blank pages of the mystery, its not as impressive as the first one. Sometimes, the story looked stretched and hurried together for a closure of threads in the end. Bringing back the dead ones to the plot is good and it generally ups the entertainment factor. But every time you do it, it lacks the punch.
I did not like the entire thread about Homeland and Saarah’s adventures over there. It was a drag for me. The whole atrocities happening over there and the aggression of Alicia’s tortures could have been avoided. Personally it was misplaced compared to The Passage and its subtle take on horror and violence. It just does not fit the mood, may be it does not match the theme of the first book. I gladly skimmed many of those pages. This one has a little more complex narration style and timelines compared to The Passage.

No one can hate this book. Yeah! its kind of a cancer perk. Its the kind of book, which mercilessly stirs you up and reminds you about the ‘you’ in you. A dull ache in your heart stays there for few days. Pain must be felt and the same echoes in readers too. As the favorite character of Grace falls down on grass, the world gives her a different view giving all its essence. this part summarized the book for me. Its simple to read but there are many memorable quotes to underline till the end. Perfect five from me, its a book which touches your heart!
P.S I wouldn’t recommend this book for a winter reading. Too sad for winters. It will take few days to shake away all those little flakes of sadness of grace. So better save it for sunny days in summer :)No one can hate this book. Yeah! its kind of a cancer perk. Its the kind of book, which mercilessly stirs you up and reminds you about the ‘you’ in you. Sophie Kinsella, the name was the only reason I picked up the book. I liked shopoholic series and chic-lit is the best way to beat the winter blues. But, after reading the the summary of the loony plot, I had little expectation from the book and initial chapters just confirmed my gut feeling. Till midway it is just the usual chic-saga of how you screw up everything to stage a miraculous spring back to life like a phoenix. But whoa, there you go..! You are in for a nice and captivating story.
With a pleasant twist and the entertaining end, Twenties girl gets a 3.5 from me. May be, may be….I liked it more than shopaholic series!Sophie Kinsella, the name was the only reason I picked up the book. Wow...Never thought History would be so interesting. It didn't feel like a non-fic at all. The 'story of us' is even stranger than fiction. How little we know about cosmos and the miracle called life! If I have read this a couple of years ago during my high school, may be the world would have got another passionate taxonomist. Author combines many interesting and quirky facts from different streams of science, dipped in humor to give you the perfect book to know about the history of anything.
A distinguishing trait of the book is that it poses more questions in front of you than answers. Enjoyed reading the book, though towards the end it was a little dragging. May be the fatigue of assimilating so many facts caught up with me!Wow...Never thought History would be so interesting. It didn't feel like a non-fic at all.
