Comment
Add a CommentI liked this DVD. It has a sad ending. I found the story funny. The script is strong. It is well acted. It is not good for all ages. Sexual scenes are subtle enough for a younger audience. There is some violence. I like Maggie Smith as an actress.
Maggie Smith is a gem! This is a delightful movie, good characters, charming plot and wonderful entertainment.
i loved this movie! gorgeous scenery of an english village, the coast in cornwall, and the isle of man. funny, quirky characters. rowan atkinson is a very versatile actor, here much different from his black adder or mr. bean character. a bit of black hunour, very british there too. i just stumbledupon this movie and enjoyed it immensely (watched in twice). and maggie smith? what a charming and evil character she can be.
highly recommended.
Fun British comedy! Grace is not Mary Poppins. Thoroughly enjoyed Roman Atkinson.
This dark comedy is a gem in the tradition of the British Ealing Studios releases of the 1950's. Wonderfully written and perfectly acted by a great cast. Hilarious throughout. Highly recommended.
Unlike my predecessors, I did not like this film because of its dryness and failure to keep me interested. It was nice, however, to see Patrick Swayze and Rowan Atkinson. I don't know...I just didn't appreciate this film as much as I thought I would.
a delightful film! The bumbling English vicar works on a big sermon while murder is afoot in his home!
If you're familiar with Rowan Atkinson, don't expect to see his usual over the top style. This is a light hearted black comedy with a sprinkling of British 'double meaning' comments. Maggie Smith andKristin Scott Thomas are a delight to watch as always. There is brief nudity a few times in this film. Patrick Swayze's portral of a slightly sleezy and somewhat overly excited golf pro is dead on.(after you see this film you'll understand why I'm saying "parden the pun". For those females who don't really want to watch the movie but love to gawk at Patrick Swayze ; just fast forward to the 'rendezvous scene " in the fisherman's shack. He's in terrific shape , tanned to show off his six pack and wearing only a thong!!! The "R" rating on the cover is appropriate . If you enjoy British humour , you'll at least get a kick out of this one.
Brilliant British comedy. Mum has a unique way of solving any problem that arises.
