This was a frightening read for me. Laura and her family are spending a year in London due to her Dad's work assignment. Her little brother, Will, is caught into a terrorist attack. It's truly unimaginable that children have to live in such a frightening new reality. Good perspectives on how others think of America and Americans and our naïve knowledge of world politics A thoughtful read as Laura tries to find out who is responsible for her brother being caught in the attack.

Published in 1999, two years before 9/11, this book tals about we all feared the most... terrorism. Caroline Cooney makes this conventional story into a mystery/suspense and current event story that is so detailed into what we think about everyday, day to day when we are riding on the subway, airplane etc. and we are surrounded by our own fears.
