Not one of Christie's better efforts. Series of short stories centered around Tommy and Tuppence opening a detective agency as a front for British Intelligence Services who are pursueing a Soviet spy ring.

Fun, but hampered by age. The continual references by T&T to fictional detectives of the day (1929 )were frustrating.

This was my first introduction to Agatha Christie's Tommy and Tuppence Beresford series. The characters sounded silly but I thought I would give the first chapter a try. I was immediately hooked by the couple's humorous conversation. Tuppence is terribly bored and wants to do something exciting. Lo and behold, they are asked to take over Blunt's International Detective Agency since there is a possibility of spy activity taking place through the organization. Tommy and Tuppence are to assume the role of Detective Blunt and his secretary (with Alfred as the office boy).

Each chapter is an adventure as they take on the cases that are presented to them. Each case is different; some are funny, some are sad, one is not a case at all, and many are dangerous.

This book is easy to read and very enjoyable. Agatha Christie certainly deserves her place as the best-selling novelist of all time.

This is an entertaining read. The book is comprised of a series of short mysteries starring Tommy and Tuppence, two of Dame Christie's charming detectives. The premise is that the pair will solve short crimes as though they were famous detectives of the time. Though I didn't recognize most of the detectives they were trying to emulate, the book zips along enjoyably.

My favourite Tommy and Tuppence novel by far! I love their witty conversations, the intriguing plots and their zest for love. An enjoyable read all the way through.

"H'm," said Mr. Carter. "Excessive self-confidence was always a characteristic of you two. Whether your immunity is entirely due to your own superhuman cleverness, or whether a small percentage of luck creeps in, I'm not prepared to say."

'I've got something better to do,' continued Tuppence. 'Something ever so much more exciting. Something I've never done before.'
Tommy looked at her with lively apprehension.
'I forbid it, Tuppence.'
'You can't,' said Tuppence. 'It's a law of nature.'
'What are you talking about, Tuppence?'
'I'm talking,' said Tuppence, 'of Our Baby. Wives don't whisper nowadays. They shout. OUR BABY! Tommy, isn't everything marvellous?'

'Let me tell you this, sir, not a person on my highly trained staff is a day over twenty-five. That is the truth.'
Since the highly trained staff consisted of Tuppence and Albert, the statement was truth itself.
