Gorgeous, brainy art historian Vicky Bliss is back for her 6th adventure, this one set in Egypt which is also the setting for the author's Amelia Peabody books.
First of the Vicky Bliss series is Borrower of the Night which begins a series that is rich in witty dialogue and bits of history. If you like the Vicky Bliss series, check out her romantic suspense written under her other pen name, Barbara Michaels. The Bliss series is really historical fiction now as it began in the 70s, but that doesn't make it any less entertaining.

I almost put this down after the first chapter, when both of the male lead characters broke down and cried, professing their love for the female lead character. It sounded like something out of a romance novel. Fortunately that didn't have again, but the resolution to the mystery could have been better.

I read all of Elizabeth Peters books but found this one disappointing. It seemed to be very drawn out.
