"[A] thrill-a-minute novel."

-- USA Today

Jack Swyteck is back in action in Born to Run --the eighth outing for the danger-prone Miamilawyer in author James Grippando's New York Times bestselling series. In this timely and spellbinding thriller, Swyteck is embroiled in shady WashingtonD.C.politics when his own father is selected by the President to replace the Vice President, killed in a hunting accident. Born to Run crackles with suspense, surprises, and razor sharp wit--"a fun 200-proof yarn," the Washington Post raves--and serves as indisputable evidence, as crime fiction superstar Harlan Coben attests, that "Grippando grips from page one."

Ugh. Not my kind of book. I much prefer reading the books involving Swyteck in the courtroom. The plot of this book was implausible, in my opinion. If you like reading about yet another hostage situation, Theo being more annoying than usual, as well as Russian and Sicilian mobs - then this book is for you!

James Grippando is a great writer and Jack Swyteck is a phenomenal character. I've read most of his novels because I've become a fan of his books.

Marginally better than his previous Jack Swytek novel, Last Call. There's some intrigue involving the president in a dark secret, which keeps you interested for close to half the book. That's when things implode and it turns into a run of the mill story.

The funny thing is that Grippando started out writing the Swytek novels as courtroom thrillers. His last few have been anything but and this one is similar to When Darkness Falls, with a hostage situation.

Stick to the first few books in the series...the last three/four have been sub par.

My second book by this author. He keeps you at the edge of your seat.

All his books are great

While certainly entertaining and fast-paced, the plot lacks credibility and the "villain" is just not good enough for all the mayhem he is supposed to cause. A fun afternoon read but nothing you will remember the next day
