I didn't understand this movie until almost at the end of it. It was confusing and boring and several times I skipped through sections. Although it did hold enough interest for me to see the ending. The grandfather was q hateful, bigot; rude and intolerant, a miserable person until his death. Would not recommend this movie.

I really couldn't see the point of this movie.......Scott Speedman's acting could be put to better use. Rachel Blanchard has been in better movies. Although the ending can be appreciated, it doesn't save the film.

While I understand how through the story Simon created that he and everyone around him are able to better fundamentally analyze their own lives, I was not a fan of the film. I did not like Sabine's role; she seemed out of place. The overarching theme of intolerance was overdone.

Mesmerizing, brilliantly layered story. One of those movies where you have to relax and flow with the story as it unfolds. Egoyan at his best, I think.

A powerful, quiet film by Atom Egoyan; Adoration won a Cannes Jury prize, 2009.
Is the story the young boy tells true? Was his father really a terrorist, responsible for planning a Air India-style disaster with his loving, pregnant wife on board? In typical Egoyan style, we come to know the characters well... or, do we, really?

I adored this film - pun intended. Intelligent, symbolic movie.

I liked this movie, not knowing where I was being led, and unable to draw conclusions to the very end.
Simon has to draw on his own memories, sift through the opinions of others, and work out in his own ways the relationship and feelings towards his deceased father.

Although this film hints at some interesting underlying ideas, Atom Egoyan's garbled direction & an inferior cast (except for Scott Speedman) can't articulate or resolve them in any kind of satisfactory manner.

Skip It - Adoration (2008) 101 min. This is the fourth Atom Egoyan film I’ve seen (others were Ararat, The Sweet Hereafter, and Exotica) and yet to like any of them. I can’t get a handle of Egoyan’s narrative style which provides very little in terms of character engagement and makes the viewer do all the work. Call me a lazy film watcher, but it takes effort to follow the story that in the case of Adoration is relevant in theme but dull to the senses.
