The original film holds up quite well even multiple decades after its release. For something that relies so heavily on special effects, the talent of not just the famous director but all of the all-star cast really does shine through. While certainly too scary for the younger set, for older children and adults alike the movie remains an absolute marvel. The dinosaurs look fantastic. The world of hi-tech wonder around them, from the fascinating-looking vehicles to the doctor-filled genetic labs and more, appear really interesting as well. It's a joy to revisit this excellent movie.

Great Movie! This is Steven Spielberg at his best! I want to give this movie two thumbs way up for its 25th anniversary this June in 2018. This is definitely one of my childhood favorites. I remember when I first saw this film when I was eight or so, and thinking how intense it was. Spielberg captivates the dinosaurs perfectly in this movie and makes them as terrifying as possible without being unrealistic. I have a love for dinosaurs, and this movie is actually what started that. I definitely recommend this film for those who haven't seen it.

Dinosaurs, what else can you say. When you combine dinosaurs with a great plot, you get an instant classic! They didn't really include any dinosaurs that nobody knew about, for instance: Monolophosaurus, or technosaurus. But, then again, if they would have strayed away from the Tyrannosaurus, cause you have to have a T-Rex, the movie would not be as popular.
The Dilophosaurus is not scientificly correct, nor are the velociraptors. But almost nobody knew what a Dilophosaurus was until Jurassic Park came out. The special effects are still pretty cool and the acting isn't bad, this is personally one of my favorite movies.
I'm going to do the entire Jurassic Park series, so check JP 2, JP 3, and yes, JW 1.

What the heck!? The comments on 1 and 3 are connected. Uhhhhhhh.......

Content is interesting but the "expert" author manages to make it boring and complicated through overuse of metaphors, wordiness and hyperboles.
Maybe something got lost in translation from German....

rewatched this (after 20 years). I had forgotten a lot of the story, but enjoyed it. I remember, 20 years ago, the special effects being fantastic.....however, times have moved on. But the story was as great as ever.

Jurassic Park is a suspenseful thrill-ride that keeps you on the edge of you seat through the whole movie. Great film, great soundtrack and especially great special effects. The mix of CG and animatronics work very well. Rewatching it, you can tell the CG in places, but it still holds up very well. Although, the movie isn't quite as good as the book, it's still the best of the Jurassic films.

The author is a m a z i n g and so are the movie adaptations. Not for the faint of heart or those without a sense of adventure or humour!
