I have loved the Black Stallion movies and books since I was a kid. I've never been able to get through the series though, so I hope to now. I was quite surprised that they made a series that I hadn't heard about until well after it was made. I was disappointed in the rewrite of Alec's father's background, which was why I gave this four stars, but other than that, I enjoyed the first season of the series a lot.
Of course, I haven't seen the original film in ages nor read the books in a while, and my reading comprehension was low as a child, so I could be mistaken about Alec's father's background.
This series is circa '80's and it's so boring and lame by today's standards. Horse lovers don't get much enjoyment out of it.
