Tiger Lily made me so sad it made me angry. It was indeed a good story-- I'd heard many good reviews, and now I understand.

The novel is very honest, and its characters were flawed in obvious ways, which was frustrating but also realistic and made it all the more piognant. Tiger Lily is written from Tinkerbell's perspective, which I found strange at times because it just felt unnecessary. Tinkerbell added nothing to the storyline; it would have made more sense to simply write the novel from the third person. But after a while I grew to like Tink's bits of wisdom. She sees the world differently, and her perspective added even more beauty to the novel.

It's also partly due to Tink's perspective that I love the writing so much. Anderson creates a beautiful world, and seeing it from Tink's eyes allows us to enjoy it more.

Overall, Tiger Lily is a love story that will not make you feel happy or mushy or flowery, but rather leave you with a bittersweet sense of loss and sorrow. It takes a good novel to evoke those feelings, so I would recommend Tiger Lily-- but don't say I didn't warn you of the full depth of what you're getting yourself into!

This was a beautiful and riveting story in my opinion. It showed a different take on Peter Pan and I loved it. I've always wanted to see Tiger Lily as more than just a supporting actress and in this she is such a fascinating an intriguing character, I also love how the point of view is from Tink and I also loved all the other characters, really well written and a riveting and beautiful plot

I recently read this for the LPL book club, YA for Grownups. From the praise I have heard of this book (both from reviewers, and readers I know), I had high hopes for this one. Fortunately, Tiger Lily even exceeded those expectations! Full of familiar characters from the original Peter Pan story, with new twists and a fantastic new take to the story, this book is a MUST READ if you enjoy retellings. Perfect for teens and grownups alike!

It was such a lovely read. the love story of the wild tiger lily and peter pan is described through Tinker bell's eyes in the most charming way. The perspective is unique and the book is so well written. My eyes were misty by the end.

This book is a really interesting take of the story Peter Pan. It also gives you a view on society and love that is forbidden. This book may make some people cry, fyi so don't read it if you want a happy-go-lucky story :)

In the days before Wendy, Tiger Lily was a 15 year old girl who had a strong, unimaginable and impossible connection to the leader of the Lost Boys, Peter Pan. When Wendy, and the changes she brings with her, arrive in Neverland, Tiger Lily if forced to make choices that she never wanted to make in the first place.

Tinkerbell tells the story a young Tiger Lily who is a wild girl of Neverland and the daughter of a strange shaman named Tik Tok. Tiger Lily is a girl who has a heart but thinks with her head. The book beautify explores the changes that happen when young people are growing up and how relationships change. It also explores LGBTQ sexuality, gender identification, and a community that is changed due to outside influences. The characters are not the ones readers fell in love with in the original story. Some are darker than originally thought and every character is deeper and more complicated. This is a love story but also a sad story. The changes is Tiger Lily's village mirror the changes that are happening with her personal relationships. It's hard not to love the fierce and loyal girl by the end of the book. This is definitely a book to read if you like new twists on old classics!

The narrator's voice was way to american, even when they were specifically talking about Englanders. The book fell short of my expectations.

This was one of the most beautiful books I've ever read. The words, the descriptions, the flow. I loved, loved, LOVED it. It's interesting the way Anderson took the point of view of Tiger Lily, instead of Peter Pan, Lost Boys, or Wendy. I almost cried about stupid Peter's betrayal. What a beautiful book.

Tiger Lily is the adopted daughter of Tik Tok, shaman of the Sky Eater tribe of Neverland. As such, she should be a revered member of her community. Instead she is teased and harassed by other children-until one of her tormentors mysteriously dies. After that Tiger Lily is still an outsider, still looked down on, but she is also feared. She grows up wild and alone, running through Neverland's forests, becoming a skilled hunter and tracker. Her only companions are other village misfits, Pine Sap and Moon Eye, and a tiny faerie. Then one day she goes against her village's orders and saves an Englander shipwrecked on Neverland's shores. How was she to know her good deed would lead to heartache, sorrow, and the greatest betrayal she would ever face? Neverland is a dark place in this faerie-narrated tale of Peter Pan's first love. Teens familiar only with Disney's version of the story may find this novel perplexing, but its many layers create a place of dangerous wonder. Tiger Lily has been reinvented with a complex backstory, giving her a credible source of deep strength and dark emotion.
