Zombelina loves to dance, and when she starts ballet lessons, she is "frightfully" good. Her classmates aren't that thrilled, but she doesn't mind. Then comes the night of the big performance, and Zombelina freezes in the unfamiliar environment. The audience leaves, her classmates leave, but her family stays. With their encouragement she is able to dance her heart out. With her rhyming text Crow delivers a story that many young performers can relate too. You can be a genius in your art, and still end up terribly nervous when in front of an audience. Idle's sweeping lines once again portray the beauty of dance. The soft palette, linework, and designs fit with Zombelina's inner beauty; even as others cry out that she is a zombie, readers won't care. She loves dance, is good at it, and gets up when down. All in all, there are a few good lessons in this book.

A very cute story about a little zombie who learns ballet, this is also an underlying story about being different and being proud to be different.
