Add a CommentI had no idea this book was part of a series, and I'm excited to read the others (even though I'm a teen and should probably go read some more adventure novels). I just love the illustrations and the message is so good and pure and it made me happy cry when I read it to my nephew. 10/10
I loved the first two books and this one has a very happy and gentle ending. An outstanding closure to a great series if Klassen decides he's taken the hat as far as it can go.
I loved I Want my Hat Back and still giggle when I read it. This is not my Hat was a great continuation. We Found a Hat is a lovely third book.
Fabulous book with audio CD for beginning readers. Well narrated text with music and sounds behind prods the memory but entertains.
A great finale for Klassen's Hat books. And I loved that this one ended in friendship rather than the murder I was expecting.
I love Klassen and these hat books! HILARIOUS! Very sly humor.
This is a nicely illustrated book with a simple message - do the right thing even when nobody is looking. My daughter is too young to get the point of the book, but I would definitely recommend for older toddlers / preschool kids.
Another gem by Jon Klassen!
The loveliest ending possible to this fantastic series!
Klassen graciously gifts us with one more hilarious hat-centric conflict, this time featuring two turtles who discover one ten gallon hat. Being smart individuals, the turtles decide to do the sensible thing, one hat can't be worn by both, so it's better to leave it they think. But one turtle can't stop thinking about it. He wants it. He needs it. He creeps towards it while the other sleeps. However it is this other which ultimately gives him pause. Once again Klassen uses contrasting text and images to tickle our expectations. However, this time he further impresses by deviating from a pattern which he established in the previous two books. His concise, edgy text, composition, minimalistic art, and limited set of earthy hues combine into a perfectly paced and pitched work. We Found a Hat foregoes the darkly humourous ending of the others by acknowledging that people are not just made of selfish impulses, but conscientious ones as well. This is a truly fitting end to a trilogy that is sure to become a modern classic.
This is a great addition to Klassen's hat series. Klassen once again uses a hat as the conflict a story about friendship. Perfectly acceptable for all ages, even the very young. A very universal tale. Very readable and good for bedtime or storytime.
