Warning: spoiler alert! I decided to read this book because I was intrigued by the title and also because the plot seemed really interesting. Well, it wasn't exactly what I expected. The story moves certainly at a very fast pace and I read it all in three days. However, I was waiting for some supernatural event or presence but there was none - humans are to blame for everything that happens here. So, a not too beloved grandfather dies, the heirs gather to read the will, and they are all disappointed for different reasons. However, the house hides a secret: a painting by Goya with power of driving to craziness whoever looks at it. The painting was supposedly stolen years ago, but is that really true? The main characters are four cousins and none of them too lovable, in my opinion. A little too stereotyped, that was my impression, just like the investigator with a dark past. Well, overall it was a pleasant reading and I love mysteries, so I would recommend this book, but it is not one of the best mysteries I have ever read (think, for example, of Wilkie Collins' The Moonstone or Dorothy Sayers' The Nine Tailors, so say nothing of Agatha Christie).
