Add a CommentI thought this was a great book, with interesting characters and unexpected plot twists. I would definitely recommend it, and a sequel would be cool too.
This is a great book! I just wish Will became real.
I liked the premise of this book better than I liked the execution. Amy starts out wanting to leave Germany because of some scandal at school. Eventually when the scandal is revealed, if it is indeed the scandal, it seems so trivial--not the scarring event I was expecting. This was my first disappointment. The pacing for the book was a bit slow and uneven in places, and it was a hard book to really get into.
Still I like the premise--isn't jumping into a story every reader's dream? Walking and talking with characters in your favorite stories, would give your books a whole new life. Still the book was slow to start, and while the book picks up towards the end, I felt that it could do with a more details at the end.
Have you ever wished that you could step into one of your favorite books and be a part of the story? In this book, Amy discovers that she comes from a long line of book jumpers who can step into stories and dedicate their lives to protecting literature. When someone starts stealing key ideas from stories like "The Wizard of Oz" and "Alice and Wonderland", Amy is determined to catch the thief! This was such a wonderful concept and it left me wishing I had a gift such as Amy's.
I enjoyed this. Loved the idea. She does leave it open enough that maybe there will be a follow up.
