Add a CommentTitle was fine, as it was based on the traditional story of Dumbo the flying elephant. But this is NOT a movie for children. This is an adult movie, with lots of cruelty and violence.
Doesn't seem like Disney. Unattractive characters, bad behaviours, unpleasant turns in the plot, lack of colour in the scenes. Not centred much on Dumbo. Only pleasant part is the last 20 minutes. Can't imagine kids watching through all of it.

This was pretty disappointing. I agree with other reviewers, it was really missing any magic or any heart. I hate nitpicking about child actors, but these two were very stiff and unnatural and kind of awful. Michael Keaton was such a terrible, cartoonish, two-dimensional villain. It all felt very fake. And the tone was so dark and unpleasant, there was no sense of lightness or fun in this film at all. Overall I have enjoyed Disney's live action remakes a lot, but this one was a disappointment. It had a few good scenes here and there, but overall this was not great.
This movie is gloomy and too serious rather than to be a fun fantasy. The characters are not strong enough. This movie needs to focus more on Dumbo rather than the circus. Although it’s nice to see flying elephant in the wilderness, I just think that Dumbo should stay with the children with the option of roaming into the wilderness whenever it wants.
What happened to the great story about animals, how did it become about people? This is so disappointing, it has nothing to do with the story generations grew up with. Pass it by and buy the original story about believing in yourself worth
This remake is rather boring. I've seen snippets of the original and those had more of a sense of wonder than this entire film. Oh how Tim Burton has fallen from his trademark dark brilliance to working for Disney. Why Tim, why? You want it darker? I'll write you a script.
I really liked this movie (maybe even more than the original)!
I enjoyed this movie remake. It differs from the original but well worth a family movie night.
