💀 "Addams Family Values" is even funnier than its predecessor, especially when Wednesday. runs amok at summer camp. The Gomezes add a member to the family, and the other kids try to get rid of it, with some hilarious sight gags. Meanwhile, Fester has his own problems.

⚰️"The Addams Family" is a fine recreation of the famed New Yorker cartoons. The script is a little lightweight, and doesn't have any interesting situations for the family. But there's plenty to admire, the cast is top-notch and a particular tip of the Observer's Trilby to Thing, also Carel Struycken's silent role as Lurch, and Christopher Lloyd, who's about to explode every second he's on screen.

While enjoying both this film and its predecessor, "The Addams Family," I think I liked "Values" just a little bit more. My husband and I definitely laughed more while watching this one. Most of the cast are all back, and this movie also includes Carol Kane, Joan Cusack, a young David Krumholtz, Christine Baranski, Peter MacNicol, and Nathan Lane and Tony Shalhoub in cameo roles. It's definitely a silly story, but there are plenty of great one-liners, wit, and "ghoul"-ishness. Wednesday is one of my favorite characters!

I recently saw this '90s classic for the first time. It was interesting to see actors that I recognize from other things -- Dana Ivey, Dan Hedaya, Christina Ricci, and the legendary Anjelica Huston. Christopher Lloyd's character, Fester, was very sweet. I really loved Wednesday... with her Marie Antoinette doll (beheaded, of course!) and her endless ways of torturing (yes, literally) her brother. Who wouldn't want to live with a family like that?!

Take this movie for what it is ... silly, campy, and more than a little ghoul-y ... and check out this Halloween staple today!

Rather bad. I thought I'd like it because I loved the tv series. But I disliked both movies intensely. Odd, because the cast was almost the same. I especially liked Raul Julia in the tv series; he was a continual delight. But I didn't like anything about either film. They just seemed thrown together any old which way. Not entertaining at all.

I was never an Addams Family TV show fan but this is pretty good. The sequel, Addams Family Values is terrible.

I seriously miss the acting of Raul Julia. The first time I witnessed it was in a CBC made-for TV movie, an SF dsytopia-type flick, and Raul was fantastic. And everyone in this movie gives a fine performance, with young Ricci showing her early potential, of course.

[Wednesday is hooking up an electric chair]

Wednesday: Pugsley, sit in the chair.

Pugsley: Why?

Wednesday: So we can play a game.

Pugsley: What game?

Wednesday: [strapping him in] It's called, "Is There a God?"

They say a man who represents himself has a fool for a client. Well, with God as my witness, I am that fool!
