Add a CommentThis film is more catered towards an adult-audience, but was shelved as juvenile...The slow-moving plot and limited "action" sequences left me wanting more. However, David Oyelowo shines as the father, alongside Angelina Jolie, as the mother, with supporting roles by Anna Chancellor and Gugu Mbatha-Raw. The children carry the bulk of the story as the audience discover the legendary tales of Peter the Boy who Never Grew up and Alice who tripped down the Rabbit Hole. One of the fun things for me in this film to discover were the vast array of homages and nods to the original stories and how they each tied in with the reality the children and family are facing. A very lush visual film and a nice diversified cast of characters, this is a great film to show off, solely for those reasons.
The movie was very slow moving. All along I was waiting for some action which never came. The children were excellent actors but the story didn't seem to go anywhere.
Well, I like this presentation very much. Fun. Adventurous. Some sadness. Magical. Imaginative. Great acting. All ages will enjoy.
