Ingénue is what introduced me to the Canadian ICONIC k.d. lang; She is not afraid to step out of the POP music boundary since Ingénue became a crossover success as it was, esp with Constant Craving which is what is presented here. The emphasis on THIS compilation is the CLASSIC, cover tune of another Canadian "icon" is Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" which is presented on this 2-disc compilation TWICE; There is disappointment, as a result, that a CHUNK of songs other than the 2 songs from the breakthrough Ingénue LP are presented here, are missing. But if you're the type that wants to scope NON-singles, dig right in. The 1st "surprise" song presented to me on this compilation and worth listening to is a "cover" of "The Air That I Breathe". 2nd "surprise" tune would be "Barefoot" and that's BEFORE she was made famous with Ingénue and is worth listening to, too!
