Written and directed by Sofia Coppola in 2017 based on the 1966 novel of the same name by Thomas P. Cullinan, this American Civil-war time drama depicts the incident at the girls school in Virginia. The novel had a black female slave as a supporting character, whom the director removed from the film. Because of this whitewashing, the film looks like a monotonous present-day drama without a historical merit. Disgusting is the solution to get rid of the soldier. There must've been a better humane idea in the first place.
